Rachelle Garniez: I Can Sing A Rainbow

This show is part of the Pangea Pride festival, June 10th through June 30th. Visit pangeanyc.com for more information.

Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Rachelle Garniez invites you to celebrate the rainbow in song and rhyme, from the psychedelic to the sublime. The glorious arc and its' seven bright hues have delighted and inspired songwriters, poets, philosophers and mystics throughout the ages. The simple yet miraculous intersection of sunshine and rain remind us that true beauty shall prevail. Accompanied by bassist Derek Nievergelt, Rachelle will perform selections by Jimi Hendrix, Peggy Lee, Kermit the Frog, Cream, Russ Hamilton, Cyndi Lauper, and Lesley Gore among others.

Genre-fluid, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and vocalist, native New Yorker Rachelle Garniez is known as a Diva with a Difference. She has collaborated with a diverse group of artists, including Taylor Mac, Catherine Russell,  Carol Lipnik, Rob Roth, Jack White, and The Citizens Band, and has performed at several TED conferences in the US and the UK in Thomas Dolby's house band. Rachelle has played on streets and subway platforms and on concert stages all over the world. She has released 6 albums of original songs; her influences ranging from Tin Pan Alley to punk rock and folk of all descriptions.  Along with Amanda Homi and Terry Radigan, Rachelle is a member of the VickiKristinaBarcelona Band a trio dedicated to re-imagining the songs of Tom Waits. She is currently recording an album saluting departed artists of the past three years, commemorating her Farewell Party concerts at Pangea.
